“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” - Mahatma Gandhi
First of all, we went to the NU Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments and Prilep Musem, we examined the archaeological collections from the archaeological site, Staro Bonce Prilep.
It was impressive to see the things used centuries ago. We saw that they used wonderfully designed jewelry even in ancient times.
And then, we went to the ethnological museum, it was a great place for us to gain insight into the Macedonian people's living style. I realized that Turkish people and Macedonians have used the similar tools like “kantar” and dressed up similarly.
We also observed that Macedonians dealt with tobacco plating for a long time.
Lastly, we went to the Church St. Blagoveshtenie, Prilep. Our guide, Philip, gave information about the decorations of the church. We learned that the wooden furnishings on the walls are unique in Macedonia.
They were very impressive with their fine craftsmanship. We lit candles before we left.
